Does anyone have experience with these geared water pumps.

yes, installed them in my boat last year. very high quality. so far no problems. They are variable speed, I believe--so there's just a noise (changing pitch) depending upon the demand. Got rid of the pressure tank. very happy.

Thks Dawdler, are they quieter? Looking at a 6 gpm pump UPE-6.

you can hear them, but I find the noise less bothersome than when I had an accumulator tank...the noise is more of a low whirring sound.
