mainship II fuel tank placement

Does the fuel tank placement differ on the Mainship II from the other model Mainships? I purchased a 1979 Mainship II that has the tanks aft of the engine bay, but I also looked at a 1980 Mainship I that had the tanks on each side of the engine. I would just like to know if my boat was modified or if it the original position.

Changes can be from slight to radical, depends on demands during construction.

Most of the model 2 and 3 had tanks under the cockpit. I believe the model 2 had two tanks and the model 3 1 tank.
The model 1 had the saddlebag tanks midship.

Hi!
Me to has a MS II and with what I beleve to be original tanks(found the label from one of them stating man.year 79). 2 tanks 112 Gal. each aluminium under aft deck!
