H50 was gushing oil out the top. Got the HS -05 kit. Two different deals are provided in this kit. One for units made before Feb. '86 and the other for use in later units. No serial # on unit. My boat is a 1987. Both seals fit the shaft. I said, eeny, meeny, miny, mo, and used the quad seal. My question is whether they changed the pump or just used a different seal and if the latter, why include both in the kit.
I'll probably call Seastar and ask before I install the unit, but thought there might be someone on here that knows.
