Fly Bridge Clears

Tried to post this last night, but I don't think it got there ? can't find it anyway.

Wanting opinions/ experience with the best material to use in clears on the flybridge. I have seen some vessels imported into Australia with some exceptional clears that are as clear as glass , .... well almost.

Does anyone have advice recomendations they would like to share.

Cheers Chris D Liberty Australia

A brand over here is EZ2CY, fantastic stuff as far as visual clarity. It is on the aft deck of the Hatt (see avatar). It does not roll up or fold; typically sections oft opened are hinged up and attached to the ceiling or underside of the FB hardtop. There are other brands similar.

Here is some indication..the center piece in back of Ann is open the pieces to the left and right are closed.

Looks fantastic, thanks for the information, I am trying to source a supplier here in Australia, no luck yet , but will do a bit of research tonight.

One of the other similar brands is Makralon, which can sewn to the enclosure fabric. (I think EZ2CY is "welded" to the fabric, something like that?)

Anyway, our 3 forward panels are Makralon, and the view is similar to your picture, absolutely clear.

If useful for OP, a couple roll-up "sheet vinyl" brands are Stratoglass, and Ultralight/Regalite... probably others...

As noted, there are other brands of this type of material. Here in the US, Ranier Windows has a good rep and they list some of the materials they use:

Rainier Industries: Marine Windows

You would have had to get to the middle of Walburg Creek in Georgia in the pictured instance. This year we're eating turkey at some of our in-laws, fun, but not nearly as much as that TG was.

Didn't Ann feed you that time at Yachthaven? Or did we just drink all your beer? I think both, actually.

Mr. L. Perhaps something like this would be more in order...
