This is for those of you who use 110v/12v/propane refrigerators. This not a message to debate the pros and cons of this type of a unit.
My old Dometic 2 door unit was 15 years old when replaced in May of this year with a like unit. Two weeks ago, the first day of our Loop trip, the freezer worked fine but the reefer box remained warm. We returned to the dock and took it in to an authorized Dometic dealer. When the tech called Dometic for help, they asked for the type of RV it was installed in. When they were told it was installed on a boat, they said "thanks for the call but the warranty only covers an installation in an RV". They voided my warranty. I went back and checked the fine print. Sure enough "RV use only". Fortunately it was only a bad board but I've lost two weeks of cruising I wanted to do in the North Channel before heading to Chicago and the Illinois river.
