Looking for options/opinions- we current have the Weaver pad style, but prefer the rail style.

This is for a 2015 13' Whaler. Thanks!
 
You can get somewhat boat specific ones, like we had for our Whaler, though the hull form lends itself very nicely to two simple rails of padded 2" aluminum tubing.
Most davit manufacturers can help you out with the former.
The only issue I have with the latter is they are more prone to causing tripping over them in the retrieval and launch process.
 
If you are going to lift the Whaler with a deck crane ,

I have the whaler mounts to lift single point and the lifting balance bar in polished SS.
