My generator is shutting down after running a few seconds.
The fault code is 7 flashes
On looking it up, it says raw water flow problem
The coolant water is flowing normally . It has a clean strainer and good impeller. I replaced the impeller anyway.
It still shuts down with the water flow fault
Is it a faulty flow sensor and where do I find it?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Are you seeing good raw water flow out the exhaust (unclear from your post)?

Since they put 90% of the exhaust under water, I have yet to figure out if I have good flow out the exhaust. I sort of figure if I see any water coming out of the 'other' exhaust, it is good enough.

I liked it when all the exhaust would come out of the above water line exhaust.

Mine does come out above the waterline. There is a lot of flow, same as when I was not getting the fault.

Does it measure flow or exhaust temperature? Cleaning all electrical connections is a place to start.

It must be a flow sensor. The temperature would not be hot enough in the 5 to 10 seconds it takes to shut down

Should be a pressure switch fitted between sea water pump discharge and coolant HX sea water inlet. They clog and get unreliable. Might be able to clean the tiny port in the sensor and get it back to life.
