Yellow is a good color

Yellow is a good color if one wants to be noticed.

Like on this Canadian pilot boat:

And yours truly:

But perhaps more appropriate for workboat-style boats such as pictured.

A better idea of what a tug, ship, or bridge tender would see. That's why I sometimes identify the boat as the one with the yellow pilothouse roof.

Most prefer to be fashionable rather than practical.

Particularly with green pants.

You're right Mark, it is

I actually like the straw color on the front cabin. Very practical

I believe the tan color on top of the front cabin helps reduce glare. Probably spent 50 hours thinking of the boat's colors over two months. Being a new build with no-extra-charge for the chosen paint scheme, I had the opportunity. Thankfully, someone on this forum convinced me that yellow would be a better color than my initial choice of orange.

I'm willing to bet it dropped the temperature too Mark. Anyone ever gets the opportunity to see the Coot in the flesh so to speak and doesn't has done themselves a disservice IMO. Beautiful yacht(not a phrase I toss about nonchalantly)

Yellow and tan are slightly warmer than white, but who is to notice when one's boat is insulated? Ditto the green hull and gray deck.

When I first saw this steel trawler ( Passagemaker Trawler Yacht Mantra For Sale ) I liked its color, Fiat Chrome Yellow, for the high visibility:
