Yanmar Dtorque 111 turbo diesel outboard?

This is the first time I have seen this OB anywhere. It looks promising. I have my doubts that it will make it to the US. If it does, I'm sure it will bring a premium price tag with it. It looks really smart and the tech in it is excellent.

I wonder how much extra weight it added going to the twin crank design. Unfortunately the EPA has gone out of there way to try and put diesel mfg out of business. I had hoped Trump would pull back the regs to tier 3 for a while. But I don't see it happening even if the Republicans had the house and Senate. They are too busy lining there pockets to help anyone else.

Diesel power is far more a euro lead regulatory zoo than US.

So few diesels by comparison are sold in the USA that many times its not worth the effort to build for US.

THe VW debacle comes to mind.

Every so often, one of these used Yanmar outboards comes up for sale on Craigslist or Ebay. This on is a 36 HP with 71 hours reported. Still $9000. 265lbs. dry weight.
