I have a whitcraft 50 Coastal Cruiser. I have 3 pairs readily available to drop in. 1- Late 70s vintage Perkins T6.354 both freshly rebuilt 2- Perkins Range 4 200s (although I worry about manicoolers) 3- Cummins 4BT What's everyone's experiences? thoughts?

If all three pairs of engines are in the same shape, I would first go with one of the six cylinder engines for smoothness among other things. The Range 4 2000 is a newer engine, but how it is different from the older Perkins I don't know, but I guess I would go with newer.

I assume any of the three provide adequate horsepower- 140 for the Cummins, 165 for the older Perkins and 200 for the newer one.

The Cummins 4B is my choice.

Totally bulletproof.
