People with political influence have the wealth for waterfront homes...boats in their field of view are probably more of a concern than sewage overflows.

So where are the contents of this "sewer tunnel" going to end up? I can't imagine it'll be long enough to put anywhere but the Sound.

What No Discharge Zone?

"The county and the city have seven overflow locations. On average, they overflow 130 times a year. This project will reduce those down to less than six per year," said Keith Ward, SPU Water Quality Project Manger.

130 time per year! I’m imagining the city needs a giant padlock on the Lake Union thru-hull to be compliant [emoji6]

Chuckle! You should see the septic tank regulations in B.C. You need an inspection by a certified specialist ($$$) and a permit from the Health Authority upon sale of your house. Complete septic redo’s are typical. And Victoria City continues to pump all their sewage into the chuck. Talk about hypocrisy!

Yes, it is a rotten deal, they put so much onerous regulation on the little guy, like our boats to comply when they don't and they know they cant comply with their own rules placed on us. That is sounding very hypocrite like.

And we are on no consequence by comparison with the hundreds of millions of gallon of even raw sewage they continue to pump into the water, yet they have the authority to really hit us hard with extreme monetary damages.

and these outflows are only a mile to couple miles out there some of them, and you KNOW that sewage comes back to the beaches and it does make you sick. I was in Sanibel years ago, and both daughters got ear infections on vacation swimming in that sewage water that Ft Meyers had some kind of problem and they were dumping raw sewage into the water. Had to seek out a med clinic, luckily we found one.

"The finding suggests 'a lot of people' are taking oxycodone in the Seattle area, researchers say."

Ya think?

I'm surprised that the environmental groups that banded together to get the Puget
Sound NDZ legislation passed are now again banding together and suing the city of Seattle for their discharges into the sound.

I just reread my post and noticed that I typed "are now again".

I should have typed "are NOT again"

Sorry for my screw up.
