Maybe I'm overthinking this but...

..Just re-worked fresh water system on Mainship 34T. Previously had fresh water tanks connected to pump and system...now have added large water filter and accumulator tank. All works great!

The question is I use to have a west marine on-hose filter for filling the fresh water tanks...now with the new filter fixed in the system should I continue to do the same?

Have had some folks say filter in system is in the right place...right before water is used...and no point on filtering water going in the tank as the chlorine, etc. in municipal water will store better in the tank. I've had a few others say filtered water in can only help/protect all components.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

My thoughts from what I have heard & read...

Charcoal filters will remove chlorine so right before use is best.
Particulate filters OK for tank inlet but best to leave Cl in if you store water aboard for any length of time.

Don't know about the WM inline but if they are the typical blue camper type they include charcoal.
