Ultra-slim 15' inflatable 15kts/5hp.
I like the look of this roll up inflatable dinghy ......
25kg 15' 4 person, 15kts on 5-6hp with vee section bottom.
£1200 seems good value.

Curious... Is that a MacKenzie Sport 18' from Clipper Canoe in your photos?

Diesel Duck,
Yes. How do you know the boat?
Rustybarge,
The MacKenzie 18 was right at $3000. when I bought it in the late 90's. It's made from a 20' freight canoe mould w a transom-like "dam" inserted near the stern. I fiddled w side bracket mounted outboards a lot and concluded a stern mounted OB on CL was clearly the best way to power a canoe w an OB.
Here's two more pics of the boat. Her size is more appearent in the 2nd pic. I like canoes. Still have three of them. Been canoeing since I was 12 and it's the only boating I didn't drop during my flying years.
The canoe is very controlable w the 6 or 8hp OB if your steady on the tiller. It's fun. Wind in the face canoeing.

I was up in Anacortes, WA a couple of years ago and saw one while attending the TrawlerFest event held there. I had never seen a motorized "canoe" prior to that encounter and it peaked my interest at the time.
It would be great to have one here in Colombia since we've got a huge reservoir nearby much like Shasta Lake reservoir in norcal. Our reservoir is known as "Embalse Peñol-Guatapé" and was created when they damned up large river for a hydroelectric power plant.
P.S. Don't google "Embalse Peñol-Guatapé" cuz if you do you'll want to move there.

I see it Rustybarge,
May I call you Peter?
That boat could be a dink. I'll bet it could be assembled afloat on calm water. It's much like my Clipper but much shorter. I like the wider stern though as we mostly power the Mackenzie but I was amazed how well it paddles and probably would not w the wider stern.
Diesel Duck,
We live about 30 miles up the Skagit River from the interstate. A short drive up a side road leads to Baker Lake .. also a dam made lake. Here is our river. I have no pics of the lake.

Eric, I think you're spot on, the nestaway conoe is designed for outboard use; I'd bet it's a pig to paddle and it's heavy as well, but the concept is clever in that each disassembled part only weighs 20kg which is easy to lift into your car. I had a tiny sailing dinghy that weighed 40kg, and it was hell of a job to lift it onto the roof rack on my own, although a canoe is a easier because you can slide one end up onto the roof at a time.

I know that area. Well, sort of... Last month I was perusing that area (via the internet and Google Earth), in addition to nearby areas, with thoughts of possibly moving somewhere in the PNW. Concrete, WA came within my radar as did a half dozen other areas in the vicinity. La Conner (Shelter Bay), Anacortes, Oak Harbor, Port Townsend along with Mt. Vernon/Burlington and the Sedro-Wooley areas were also on my list.
Your area looks absolutely beautiful!

Rustybarge,
The Nestaway reminds me of the nesting Easy Rider Kayaks. They called them "Take Apart" boats.
The Nestaway reminds me of the 15' wide stern square stern Grumman "Sport Boat" having a wide stern like the Nestaway.
My rubber duckie is quite easy to lift up to the cabin top but it's such a dog in the water it's almost not worth getting down. My next experiment (now that I have an anchor that weighs 15lbs and seems to perform well) is using a canoe as a dink. I just receintly bought a 15' aluminum canoe thats beamy .. and carries the beam further into the ends so has really good stability. I think it goes 3 or 4 times as fast as the duckie and it's a pleasure to paddle. Bucks headwinds and is fairly good in crosswinds too. Probably wouldn't beat the duckie as a life boat though.

Diesel Duck,
It is beautiful here and the weather is mild. Concrete is a nice solid comunity but very rural. Conservative w a few extra odd people. Old pickups w barely a muffler and animals are popular and there's a law that alows any and all animal noises, smells ect imaginable. My neighbor starts his loud Toyota up most mornings at 4:30 and warms it up for 30 min. Prior to driving off. Dosn't bother us much and we've never mentioned it to him. It's a lot like Alaska and pretty much anything goes. Dirt bikes w/o muffs, guns, hound dogs ect. And like Alaska many park partly in the street/road.
Way different downriver in Burlington, Mt. Vernon and the other places you mention. But these places are quite a bit different than Everett or other closser to Seattle. I like both lifestyles and enjoy Seattle but we don't go there often. Much of my growing up was in Seattle so I'm comfortable there and know how to get around. The weather being what it is now I think there's no better place to live but I'd probably rather be in Sitka or Juneau. Next time you're in the area PM me for my phone number.
