Two tender hoists, one boat

i recently was aboard a motoryacht with a pair of 1500 lb Marquipts, port and starboard. it seemed a very useful setup: being able to access the water from either side of the boat. It was only this morning, a week later, that it occurred to me that they could be also used while at anchor to hang roll stoppers on each side.

Any reason why this would not be a good idea assuming one was able to prevent them from swinging?

Could be much more than 1500lb load on them during a snap roll depending on the size of the boat?

Wouldn't the 1500 lb load rating of the hoist take into consideration that the boat could roll with a large tender attached? If thats the working limit, I'll bet the breaking point is at least 3 times that. I wonder how much load flopper stoppers for use at anchor actually create?

A free-hanging tender doesn't pull against the water when rolling. Would depend on the size of the "stopper" area, of course.

Just as with anchor line , nylon will stretch and smooth the ride of the flopper stopper .
