Surveyor Recommendations

I am new to the forum and about to purchase a trawler for The Loop in the Spring.

I am looking for any recommendations for hull and engine surveyors that you have had direct experience with. The location is the Atlantic Coast of Florida, South of Daytona.

Please sent any recommendations you may offer to my email address (not here) at cwdorman911@gmail.com.

Thanks to my many future friends.

Highly recommend Doug Birely out of Stuart.

You can find the survey he did on Sonas on my web site if you want a look.

Recently contracted these two surveyors for an older fiberglass trawler in Stuart. Very professional and thorough. Survey took two days due to boat size and system complexity. Not inexpensive, but based on survey recommendations the negotiated price reduction was 3X survey costs.

> Engines, transmissions and generators by Tim Caruso, Marine Diesel Analysts, Stuart.

> Hull, decks, superstructure, systems by Jon Howe, Nautical Services Group, Ft. Lauderdale.

Good luck with your boat search and purchase.
