Sticky Damper Plate

Twin Perkins T6.3544M's......just removed the starboard Velvet Drive for rebuild and need to replace the damper/pressure plate. I removed the bolts holding the plate to the flywheel but cannot get the plate to budge. Never had a plate that didn't just fall off when I removed bolts. Tried slide hammer with no luck.....also the plate looks really unusual...no springs, just weird looking bands. Please Advise
Thanks

Sometimes they get stuck at the pilot bore on outside diameter. If you are going to replace it, be brutal and make it obey. Run a tap partially into a bolt hole, not enough to tear up fw bolt hole threads, put a bolt in and jack it out. Or pry, or drill holes in, whatever.

Tapping with a hammer around OD can loosen rust bond.

It will come out, just ask firmly.

Finally out!!!!!

Finally.......had to use a breaker bar and a scissor jack but finally she gave up the ghost. It amazing how tenacious rust can be ......sounded like a gunshot when she finally let loose. Cheers!!
