simple question

Does anyone know what the proper name for the aluminum or brass scuff plate
next to each cleat which is used to protect finish from rode is called?? I've been cutting up long plates to make shorter ones but would like to buy new. However, can't seem to find proper name to locate on line.

Thanks John
