carpeting

I want to replace the carpeting on the flybridge on a 3818 Bayliner.
Is indoor outdoor carpeting the same as Marine carpeting ?

Thanks

I'm surprised you have carpet on the flybridge.

We just replaced ours with Shaw brand indoor/outdoor. Mesh backing for drainage not rubber. If it looks like a duck...

I installed an area rug on our flybridge made for outdoor decks, etc. After more than a year in the elements it still looks new.

After taking up the old carpet and cleaning up the mess underneath,
I think I will just leave it for awhile.
Its like wash board fiberglass but looks good and should clean easy.
It just worry if it might get slippery.

We have carpet on the fly bridge but it's snap-in, snap-out, so I can take it out and power wash it on the dock or driveway at home. That's much handier than gluing something down.

Greetings,
Mr. ct. You may want to consider something like this: https://www.dri-dek.com/

We replaced our bridge carpeting -- and cockpit carpeting -- with stuff from Corinthian Marine Carpeting. Our original carpeting had some black rubber backing that positively sucked. Our "new" Corinthian stuff has a backing called AquaLoc (I think) and it's still pretty much like new after a good 5 years or so. I made templates; they made the carpets to fit. Bound with Sunbrella. Wash with power washer, usually one the dock.

Made templates for the galley and head, too, so smaller sections of the same stuff cover the "wood" floors in those areas, too.

The cushioning helps me...
