We replaced our bridge carpeting -- and cockpit carpeting -- with stuff from Corinthian Marine Carpeting. Our original carpeting had some black rubber backing that positively sucked. Our "new" Corinthian stuff has a backing called AquaLoc (I think) and it's still pretty much like new after a good 5 years or so. I made templates; they made the carpets to fit. Bound with Sunbrella. Wash with power washer, usually one the dock.
Made templates for the galley and head, too, so smaller sections of the same stuff cover the "wood" floors in those areas, too.
The cushioning helps me...
