"“I’m sure we could design an impartial study to reach the conclusions we want,” Ericksen said. “

Therein lies the problem: designing a study to reach the conclusions you want. Studies are supposed to be designed to provide impartial information, so that that conclusions can then be drawn. This is backwards: Decide the conclusions and then do a study to support them.

This from one of our elected officials. Notice he says that Lake Washington property owners might be inconvenienced when the water starts rising. For those that don't know, Lake Washington is 20.6 feet ABOVE Puget Sound at mean low tide. Never a dull moment in this state.

It's actually quite a funny F-you to people who have proposed just this for the Snake river. He's basically saying, OK, you go first.

This might be the most telling quote:

But as they say in Seattle, no sacrifice is too great for somebody else to make.”

Ted

This Representative is not from Seattle. His area is 2 hours north of Seattle. This would be like a Washington Senator introducing a bill to remove dams on the Mississippi.

You guys need to read this as he meant it.... tongue-in-cheek ... it was OBVIOUSLY a joke.

He meant this for the greenies in Seattle that always push to drop the dams along the Snake and Columbia.. telling them to go first
HOLLYWOOD

Are you sure? I think you're giving him too much credit, but I've never heard of him before.

Oh, that's outrageous. About as outrageous as people who live in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties wanting to remove the dams on the Snake River.

The audacity of those tree huggers anyway.

Good article, glad there are still obsurdities that make the news that will never happen......

Exactly. I actually think it's a point by point rebuttal of the Snake River proposal. Like the thing about a "little inconvenience" from the rising water level.

Yea he’s trying to point out the hypocrisy of the Seattle NIMBYs. Komo didn’t pick up on it so it went over everyone’s head.

That's the problem with sarcasm and parody these days. The world is so crazy, that you just don't if someone is serious or not! :D
