I have 4 dogs and a parrot. The RV makes travel pretty easy - although still loud LOL... I noticed you mentioned your dogs and mother-in-law in the same sentence. How well did that go?

I said my mother-in-law, not my wife's MIL. :)
We get along great. She was the one who sewed the privacy curtains.

We actually chose our trawler with her and the dogs in mind as well. We found there just wasn't enough water around while camping, even at Assateague.

We live 6 months on the boat and 6 months in the motor home. 19 years we been full time live aboard. My wife bought both of them. Keep the wife happy. This is our third year so rving is still new to us and we been seeing a lot of the us. Both have their plus and minus. June 20 we are flying back to Seattle to live on the boat unit October.
