Robertson AP-35 Auto Pilot

I have a Robertson AP-35 autopilot that works just fine.

However the screen is getting worse and worse almost to the point of being unreadable.

Does anyone know of a source for a replacement screen?

I have contacted Simrad and they do not respond.

Thanks in advance.

Did you try adjusting the contrast and backlight?

Try Ebay. I find most stuff I want there and I just looked for displays after reading your post. There are a few listed there but I think the sellers are greedy

Trying to do the same with a TMQ AP500
Same shape as discontinued JRC Jnav500
Same shape as current Farwater PK2006

None of these 3 companies have been of any help.

As a last resort and if your going to replace it anyway, maybe try a product used to remove scratches from plastic. Among other uses it is sold to restore the clarity to automobile headlight lenses. Also used to restore the clarity to clear plastic panels in canvas on boats. There are a few different companies that sell it, Mequires Wax comes to mind. It is available on Amazon, also most auto parts stores sell it here in the states.

Burnt Screen Services – Your EVC unit is a vital piece of equipment that you rely on when captaining your vessel. It should never let you down. … but when it does

The guy above has repaired Volvo , Cummins screens for similar problems. Maybe try contacting him. Maybe he can help.

Trying something, anything is less expensive than some of the prices for used stuff on Ebay

Our friends AP-20 screen has done the same thing but we have not been able to find anyone or anything to repair it. Might give the repair service mentioned a call.

As luck would have it, I found a brand new AP35 control head!!! I can not believe it!

These guys will either give me $500 trade in on the old one or else fix it for me.

Wow!!

Marine Electronics of the Outer Banks.

Maybe they can help the folks with the AP-20?

Can't hurt to check.
