Today we received from the factory our main engine with its gear in place. It is a MWM 229-6T with 145 HP @ 2500 RPM. This engine is originally Deutz designed and produced for the first time*in 1975. There are more than 750.000 of these in trucks, boats, irrigation pumps, generators, tractors, etc. It is cheap, reliable, one head/cylinder, there are spare parts available all around South and Central America, Caribbean Islands and Canada. And it is factory marine engine! 75% of the fishing boats and water taxies in Brazil have them, ( the Amazon River echoes its traditional bass sound)

The Gear is a ZFW220 3.96:1, huge, ugly and strong, as it should be!

Enjoy!

Now that ought to do the trick.

Boat porn! Nice!

Good choice both are from the industrial side , rather than the light duty collection.

Nice oil drain system too, handles both the engine and transmission.
