PO on 6yla-stp had the 10's they were gross not sure when they were done, but globs of black muck was all over the turbine filter and drains were clogged.

Had to remove bowl to clean it all up.

I have Yanmar secondary on the engine 41650-502330-12 but the box doesn't say what mic it is.

I google that part number but can find mic rating

I think the primary should be 30 if the second are 10.

your opinion

Yep, 30 for the primary.
Yanmar calls the secondary (41650-502330-12) a strainer, but believe it's 10 microns.

I use a 10 micron on the primary since they are Racors and much much easier to change than the on engine secondary. My Lehman secondary filters are said to be about 6 to 7 microns but I have never found it in writing.

Multi-stage filtration is best, rough to fine, with a very fine filter at the on-engine.
sbmar.com offers some very sound reasons to go with this type of setup, and also conveniently sells everything you need to make it happen at fair prices.
Lots of interesting reading in their “Tips” section, on all things diesel.
