We’ve used propane BBQs for years, from disposable cylinders to small refillable tanks. The storage and disposal of the tanks has always been a concern. Our current boat has a generator, which we normally run while cooking on our electric stove and convection/ microwave. We are now trying one of the small smokeless electric grills. Ours is a Gotham Steel with the copper grill plates and a griddle. I put it on a fish filet table that fits in a rod holder and plug it in to an outlet in the cockpit. So easy. I’ve had very good luck with it, although if you use a heavy marinade or BBQ sauce, I would use a non stick foil over the grill, to ease clean up. No propane to worry about, or run out of. You can buy them for about $70-80 on Amazon. Also, if the weather turns snotty, you can use it inside, as it’s relative smokeless, depending on what you’re cooking.
