So, a Nordhavn 62 would be great, but I have a ceiling of $300,000. So, Fantail 50 with smaller tanks, or a Seaton 50 in steel with big tanks but less aesthetics? Or maybe a diesel duck 50? All priced around the same but very different boats.
Thoughts?

Other than the charter idea, Dauntless and I did all you want to do and more, for under $300k.
A few things to keep in mind:
I looked at boats for 5 years, including dozens of European boats. The list became a short one as I added efficiency with capability.
I realized that I couldn't afford a boat that got 2nm/gal with $4 fuel in U.S. and $8 in Europe.
With a range of 2000 nm, you can cross the North Atlantic ONLY one way. You won't be able to get back.
Therefore 3000 nm is the operative number and I could milk 4k out of my KK42 if i needed to.
Lastly, a lot of folks talk about this boat or that, being capable of doing whatever.
I only believe what I've read or known to have actually happened.
