Tax deductible too!
I initiate and spearhead conference calls on it quite often... As well as write papers i.e. occasionally using it as one of my offices.

Would naming one's boat "The United States President" raise anyone's concern?

Here is one I have enjoyed most my life, when I was just a lad my uncle built a Herreshoft 32 which was caravel plank mahogany etc.. She was a vessel that set the stage for my love of sailing and boats. I believe the naming grew from the multi year project coming to an end.
SV Goodness and her lap straked dink was Gracious.

We've only had one boat that we named and after much thought came up with --- "Time Well Wasted". Still like that name.

I did not bother changing the name of our boat which was changed at least once by POs. If I were to change it, the name would be "Asahi II"...the Japanese word for "morning sun"....not the Japanese beer with that name. My father's wooden 16 ft Regal Line Lancer, circa 1956, was the original "Asahi" in our family.

Always thought asahi was an odd name for a beer, kind of like "morning vodka."

When that started looking like a viable option, I quit

Other likely name candidates to stay in same bent of our Tolly's name... "The Office" and our Crestliner's name "Water Cooler":
Meeting Room / File Cabinet / Supply Room / Foyer / Rest Area / Massage Chair / Human Resource / Intern / Top Employee... an on ... and on ..... it goes!! LOL
Happy Boat-Name Daze! - Art

I'm with you, Mark. I've always liked the way the New England fishermen named their schooners. A lot of them were named for people of some significance in the owner's eyes. Some of the famous ones were Gertrude L. Thebaud, Elsie, Elizabeth Howard, Henry Ford. Then there were the more impressive names: Columbia, Mayflower, Puritan. And there were some fanciful names: Stiletto, Bluenose (slang term for a Nova Scotian).
Foss tugs have always been named for members of the Foss family: Garth Foss, Lindsey Foss, Wallace Foss.
I like some of the names of the lobsterboats we've seen on Prince Edward Island.
