Please Please Please

Apple has arguably made typing on a hand held device easier with its predictive spelling etc.

BUT!

Please reread your posts and edit them if your device has made a dog's breakfast of what you are trying to post!

Vert difficile to rede watt yoo are tryouts to see!!! Exhausting.

Meanwhile, I remain communicating at a desk-top with full keyboard. If I'm not home, you'll not hear/read from me.

Reminiscing with a friend yesterday and realized it has been over 4 years since I have used a desktop and 2 years since using a laptop computer. Just because I use an iPhone doesn't mean I use it when away from home.

If u cn rd ths u cn gt a gd job wit hi pay.

In the late 1950s and early 1960s that phrase was a subway advertisement for a school that taught speed writing to qualify you to be a secretary. The graphics were of course aimed at women.

If I can figure out how to use it, I thought I might start using Siri for dictating forum entries. Siri has just been added to the MacBook OS. Still looking to find out how. So far no joy.

We dictate 95% of our posts. I've used Android dictation software, but we generally use Dragon products including Dragon mobile assistant as it's the memory features that really lead to more accurate transcribing.

Siri/Apple is really very good. Microsoft Speech Recognition on Androids is bad. Google Docs Voice Typing is pretty accurate, maybe even better than Apple.

When I saw the thread title, I thought this was going to be about the old James Brown song of the same name.

Apparently, it is not.

When drafting an e-mail to my cousin Jean, Dragon Naturally Speaking entered the salutation as: "Hygiene." Training didn't seem to help.
