Its not always about boating

I just returned after spending my weekend with 3011 of my closest friends, cycling from Vancouver to Seattle on the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer. In order to ride, I raised $4100.00 for the BC Cancer Foundation. I rode with a team of 180 Riders For Ryders, who collectively raised around $500,000 of the grand total of $11.2 Million raised this year.
The ride started out in the rain at the Cloverdale Arena. Our team got on the road together and finished together at Redmond Washington. In between was 240 km of riding, over 2 days. At the end were a lot of stiff and sore riders, many flats, some injuries, but universally high spirits among both the riders and the 1000 voluntees.

Congratulations!

My best friend is the crew chief for a team currently participating in the Race Across America. Their team is #T809 Team Donate For Life - Crystel's Gift.

Crystel Stanford, whom the team is named in honor of, lost her life in a race last May. My friend crashed and almost died at the same race.
