ReProp Cape Dory 28 trawler

I have a 28’ Cape Dory Trawler with a 100hp westerbeke and was wondering if any one with similar has had any luck repropping to get a bit more speed. Thanks!

What’s your speed? WOT speed, cruise speed, idle speed and rpm for all. And what’s your rated rpm. And lastly dia and pitch of prop.

I followed the Cape Dory 28 news for several years when I had a CD28 gasser. I never heard of a CD, whether gasser, Westerbeke 100 or Volvo 200 that was propped significantly wrong. No under propping was reported (wot rpms higher than rated max) and a few with slight over propping (rpms less than rated). The latter will give you a false sense of better speed but at greater engine harm.

How fast do you go now? It's not going to be a speed machine with that motor.
