Searching for the right trawler for years and honing in...I wanted to ask the collective if having an Offer Letter written by an admiralty lawyer was worthwhile? Pros / Cons?

If you go through a broker they will have a standard offer form. If you go from a seller directly Boat/US has an agreement that you can use if you like it.

Too much legalize from a lawyer might be an issue. I think Dave's idea is good, and you can make minor mods as you see fit.

We used the BoatUS agreement and it worked for us just fine.

I have used the Boat/US letter to sell several boats and not had any issues.

Admiralty lawyers won't know as much as Real Estate (conveyancing) lawyers. There are no issues in buying a boat that require knowledge of admiralty law. The advice above, re Brokers or BoatUS documentation is right on.
