Regarding fire main- Should be able to secure pump and isolate sea water supply from engine room or one of the aux spaces, where ever the pump and valving are located. But by that time the engineering crew were likely running out of options. Not sure how that system was set up on that ship.

Could be hull flexing broke the fire main. In that case, there may have been hull rupture.

Could be, although at that point they didn't mention hull rupture. Will be interesting to see how they pull all this together. I'm still shocked they were able to recover the recorder and get all they did off of it.
