"nos" RIB

What issues might I expect to find if I decided to buy a "new in the box" 4-year old RIB?

It is Hypalon. Assume the tubes are still in their original box and the whole thing has been stored in a probably-unconditioned warehouse.

Might the tubes be permanently creased? If folded could the tubes have deteriorated and adhered to themselves? Could...?

Any thoughts welcome.

Hypalon is very stable and I doubt it would adhere to itself if creased. Emergency life rafts stay folded up that long with no problems.

I had a hypalon dinghy that was twenty years old, had sit in the sun the majority of that time and held together fine. Four years in a warehouse is nothing.

Older RIB

I have an 15 yr old Achilles rolled up in the garage for 3 years and just inflated it. No problem.

I would check the rub rail. We’ve had/have separation from the hypalon on an Avon and Achilles. The hypalon/tubes I’d expect to be fine.
