This is funny! When I was up at the Krogen rendezvous, there were some good buys on parts, filters, etc. from people at the flea market. I loaded up but my checked bag was a bit overweight, so I pulled a big 5" rudder zinc out and put it in my carry-on. Oh man, TSA went nuts when they saw that on the x-ray. They inspected my bag and asked me about it... had to get a supervisor over. They let me on the plane with it "THIS TIME" but told me to be sure to check it next time, as they weren't supposed to let big pieces of metal on board. Sorry, I never heard that restriction! I guess they would rather I brought the spare exhaust*manifold for the Westerbeke on the plane. FYI.
