new guy

Hi......new to this site and my topic should probably be in "red tape" but it also said for newbies to start here, soooo........
We are trying to determine the real deal for the requirement of an ICC in the Med if you are on, as in this case, your own boat. Some sites say it's only for charters other say everyone. Everything I have seen pretty much relates to sail and not power. Anyone have the real story? Not the least of which is how do you acquire one in the US? Thanks very much in advance.

Welcome!

Don't know about the ICC, not even sure what it is or what the letters stand for, but I'm sure someone here will be able to help. Best of luck!

The ICC (or to give it its full title International Certificate for Operators of Pleasure Craft) is a certificate which is intended to provide evidence of competence when requested by officials in foreign countries. It is sometimes known as the International Certificate of Competence.
