I was living in Key West when the entire squadron of 6 PHM (Patrol / Hydrofoil / Missile) were stationed there. These were freaking awesome machines, big gun in a turrent forward, Harpoon missiles, top speed classified but 50 knots + on a 133' ship!
When they were being decommissioned the had a kind of farewell and the last one to leave went through Key West Harbor foilborne.
Nice to see one survive and be repurposed.

Navy experimented with a number of different Hydrofoil boats. Both Boeing and Grumman dabbled with them.
