Hmm, this thread is going on 6 weeks and is only 4 pages long. Perhaps Flybull is right and we should add anchors to this discussion.

Personally I think the best anchor is a Caterpillar block. There is one about 35 years old on the flats outside my dad's house in Merritt Island. We've been tying our dinghy to it forever and it still performs perfectly. Doesn't even burn any fuel. I wonder if it is turbocharged???

CAT uses (or use to use, through 2016) Navistar engines in their on-highway trucks. They called them "Cat CT13", but these engines were made by Navistar.
You are correct. The newish CAT branded on highway vocational trucks were built by Navistar.
