Mainship 390 AC operation

Will the AC system operate while the engine is running, or is it necessary to also run the generator?

Have to run the generator, the Air Conditioners are AC only.

I figured that was the case. I wonder if there is a modification one could make that would facilitate that? I'm assuming that the engine alternator charges all the batteries. (?)

The alternator can only produce DC power. Unless you have a DC A/C? I don't believe they make one?

Here is an alternative to running the generator for A/C while underway...a belt driven AC generator. I canít imagine it to be cost effective vs just running your generator.

Just run the generator, it wonít hurt it to run underway and they donít use much fuel. Any other option will cost you $$$ and more things to maintain. We have run ours on occasion underway when itís been really hot or cold.
