Looking for Info on Universal Diesel Generators

Hi Folks. I have an 8 kw Universal diesel generator (8 DP model) made in Oshkosh Winconsin in my 1982 Albin 40. I assume the generator is of the same vintage as my boat. Universal was bought out by Westerbeke many years ago and as expected, they don't support or have documentation for this model anymore. It has always worked perfectly to this very day so it's not going anywhere anytime soon. When I bought my boat in 2005 no manuals were included for this generator. Does anybody out there have one of these rare birds, and if so, do you have an operator's or a service manual that I can get copied?

I would look for documentation on the equivalent Universal diesel propulsion engine as these were used on older sailboats, Ericsons as I recall. The generator end could have been supplied by several builders of small generator ends, such as Markon and others. Broward Armature might have some info on the generator end.
