Mr. H. It boggles the mind. We took a 5 day Yangtze cruise about 4 years ago and the final day was passage through the conventional locks (5, as I recall) at Three Gorges. The Chinese don't fool around. They raised the river level 550'+ and displaced/relocated upwards of 1.25 million people. The Chinese do not do anything small time...
