During my recent search for a new motor for the dink I looked high and low for the best deal. Here are my observations:
1. Chain stores are restricted in what they can offer price wise but have some return options that are hard to beat.
2. Local stores have limited stock on hand but if you can wait a few days the service is top notch.
3. Mail order is a crap shoot for in Stock and service after the sale is non existent.
4. The members of this forum are a good bunch of people and HopCar deserves a big thank you for his offer to go beyond any expected service to get me a deal.
In the end I bought a Lehr 2.5 from a local dealer both for service after the sale and their willingness to tough out the rough economy.
