We are leaving early Saturday AM, 12 hours run to Biloxi Mississippi and the slip- seafood buffet at Hard Rock Casino', up early again and out for a day anchored at Ship Island, back to the slip, clean up and seafood buffet at the Hard Rock Casino, and then up early Monday AM and 12 hours back home. It's been too long since we have been over there.*What plans do you guys have for the holiday?

Hate to say it, but stayin' in the slip to avoid the drunks and rookies and mass crazy boat traffic. I hate to take the boat out on holiday weekends; much prefer to boat any other time. Of course I'll be at the swim up bar at our marina!

Most likely Offat's Bayou for us...

We are taking possession ofour NEW to us boat Friday, spending the night on her in Sausalito, CA, where she currently lives, then leaving EARLY Saturday to head to Marin Yacht Club in San Rafael for our yacht club's annual Labor Day Cruise!* We*will spend Saturday and Sunday hanging out with friends and playing*in the pool, etc, then leave early*Monday to take our*boat to her new home at Coyote Point Marina (hopefully under three hours)!*

Sand and paint.

Probably stay at home and hope hurricane Earl doesn't bash my boat to bits!

If it looks like a miss, I may go down to see the Neuse River rise up to really high levels caused by the constant NE winds.

oh.....and drink some wine.

Hurricane party at the marina friday evening..hopefully to celebrate Earl's abrupt turn to the east.
If successful at the above, then perhaps Coecles Harbor, Shelter Island, NY.

Going to finish painting the transom and hopefully get 2nd and 3rd coats on as well. Am just itchin to get the new name put on. Hubby promised to make his famous potato salad and beans and probably barbeque some hamburgers onboard and just generally enjoy ourselves and the local scenery.

Just splashed the ChristyLee after painting the bottom for the first time in three years. *Just in time, as Labor Day will bring the famous 'Slammin' Salmon Derby' here in the port of Brookings Harbor.*http://www.chetcocyc.org/Home.aspx

Always fun as there are a LOT of*competitors, many from out of the area; even out of the state! Big cash prizes and the fish are starting to show themselves finally!

Only problem is that high winds and rough seas are predicted. *What's new; this IS Oregon!

Boardwalk will be busy with booths, food, bands and many people. *I love the crowds; makes the place seem so alive!*

Maybe Sucia, Jones or other place to hang the hook. Hopefully the weather improves. Looking like November already!

Cruise the Gulf islands with family (son and Daughter-in-law) aboard and friends on their boats. Silva bay, Wallace Island, maybe Montague Hbr. Trap some prawns, maybe a pub lunch.

Cat or Horn Island for us. Leaving early Sat. and returning Monday midday. Perhaps we will see y'all on the water.*

Where you keeping the boat at now?

I can't seem to get a rainless day.
We went 31 days in a row with rain.
I need to do some fiberglass work so I'm going to tarp it over and go for it.

Summer is about over for me here in the great white north.
Getting down in the 40's at nite. Got to get ready to winterize. My god that word. Already

Ken,
We are at Beau Chêne, up the Tchufuncte. I'll call you when we get going Saturday. It would be great to visit.

Since we were just out last weekend gunk-holing, we will be staying at the home dock in Rock Hall MD for the weekend, except for a joy ride or two. Dinner with friends on Fri night, probably eating MD blue crabs. Then the daughter and grand kids come down on Sun & Monday. I love it when they come down because then I can teach my 7 year old grandson all about boating, teach him to steer, etc.* And, as a grandparent, I exercise my right to brainwash the kids with all of MY values !

It will be interesting on Fri to hear all the uninformed naysaying gossipers on the dock talk about how hurricane Earl is going to be coming right up the Chesapeake Bay. Believe it or not, when we came back to the dock LAST SUNDAY, they were starting this crap already. BTW, these are the same people who never go cruising but enjoy life on the boat as dock queens.

Checking out Lurssen yachts in Bremerhaven then a leisurely drive down the Rhine stopping at vineyards on the way to Monaco for the yacht show.

B***stard. I'd kill to do that.

Lives of the rich and famous???

Just got the weather forecast for this weekend. Low of 65 on Saturday, and 63 on Sunday. Pretty darn good for the deep south. Means we get to sleep with the windows open, and no generator running! Yay!
