Kits CCG Base reopens.

Not earth shattering international news but of high local interest.
The closing of this important Coast Guard facility was narrow minded, mean spirited and political. Ok, that's my opinion.

The refreshing thing is, there was not the usual photo op around this quiet event. Just got 'er done.

April 2013 as a cost saving measure. About half a US million per annum. It was sudden and some saw it as, aw well, never mind, it is officially open, will have enhanced S&R and training capabilities.
