We have discovered an unused space hidden behind a custom leather couch in salon that would fit a 2cu ft chest freezer accessed by making a hatch on our galley counter.
A $1300 ac/DC or an under $200 throw away from Home Depot. We are probably ok with the extra AC draw(1200ah inverter bank).

We bought a Gold Star portable chest refer/freezer from Overstock.com. Paid about $600 with an extended warranty. About 3 years later it would not work on 12 volts. Called Overstock, they couldn’t find a local repair shop since we live in the boonies. They refunded my purchase price. I asked what to do with the freezer, they said keep it. It works just fine on 120 volts so I plug it into a small inverter on the boat and use my free freezer. I had tried to buy a $1000 Dometic freezer prior to buying this one byt fortunately they were on back order so I then went to Overstock. Glad I did.
