You obviously are half keen?

1950s oil field support boat converted to liveaboard. The owner has a family member that owns a small shipyard - bottom, electrical, engines have all been redone. Powered by a pair of 4-53s.

The owner has done all of the interior fitting out and renovation as well asthe topside paint on his own.

The boat spends a couple of months a year anchored in the Biloxi Marsh as a duck hunting and fishing mother ship, the rest of the time as shown.

oh... tease me some more!!!

That's because of my dyslexia... Both sides if brain work. It's just that they look at things in reverse to each other. When I see photo I start viewing from the bottom up. Same thing with a certain gender of humanity. LOL :D

Leave the drag queens out of this.

That's not a selfie?? Or, is it!!!!

Nice looking hull. Looks like a lot more boat for the money than the other one that was posted earlier.

$375K, No mention of a means of propulsion, no interior
By the time you are finished, you will need maybe another $500K+ and 2 years.
The buyer is starting with an empty hull. Dont have to worry about stripping everything down to start over.

Looks like they forgot something... On the bow, there are these 2 placeholders for the anchors, but I do not see any passage for the chain????

Probably has something to do with anchor choice and stowage. Ie,west coast style self storing deck winch or hawse pipe, chain locker set up. Either way, Aluminum is easily cut .

The price just for a bare hull...On some photo some part don't look straight, look at the bow ? Optic illusion ??

True it's totally bare. But if you wanted to start scratch and do the interior layout your way instead of living with what you could get. It's most definitely a blank slate. Bigger/smaller fuel tanks. More eng room to work in. Ect. As for how straight everything is. You would need to look at it in person. I have seen stuff in person that looked off. But put a square or straight edge on it and it was perfect.

But just for compare , this Moonen 75 from 1999, the owner agree (at the moment she was for sale) our offer at 230k€ (including the brooker fee !)

Some time just the right moment for the buyer :)

But for this one engines have more hours than the average (5500h) engine are too big also if I understood correctly some change in the Turkish regulation at this moment.
But in the last 2 years we saw few of this "distress sale"

Some examples on the same level of price:

250k€
Alter Ego former tugboat
Schooner Blue Clipper

and the Proteksan 88 alloy from 92/93, 280k€

I’ve seen those three yachts advertised on Qatar Living... sellers are all coincidentally from Nigeria... their rich uncles died...

I wrote a long post to explain to you and ...lost it !!
I will make shorter

Not necessary to thinking "African president die", just need to be at the right place at the right moment .
The first one the former tugboat was owned by a French guy who spend million on her, we made offer at 250k€ and he agree at this level of price, it was a surprise for all people ...but right moment etc ...
The schooner was for sale at 1,2 million in Grece but "any offer was encouraged", we made again 250k€ , the broker smile and reply to us he had already one MOA in progress at 550k€ and 2 another potentials customer at 500k€ ...but one month and half later the schooner was for sale "at the best offer starting price 250k€" one guy made 255k€ (we don't made any offer because until the last moment we thinks "the 3 potentials customers" will made offer up to 500k€ :)
The last one was in Turkey ,built in Turkey in 92/93, the superstructure are curious and one sister ship sunk at the anchorage just front of St Tropez:blush: bit they agree 280k€
even just 3 more example

the Dream Lagoon last august the owner agree our offer at 200k€ ex vat, but unfortunately we can't buy her before end of November and at this moment the owner change her mind
the second one was send to...scrap ,for officially 0€ ! 36m alloy engined alloy hull
and the last one Abel J officially sold for 100k$, but at one moment not far to agree less...

l-c.62 - Am I reading it right that you purchased some if not all of these large boats? If so, what do you do with them... just flip em for profit? Those big babies could become one heck of a $$$ drain really quick if not flipped. At least I think so??

Interesting boats - for sure!

Good God I hope not!
Hollywood
That boat, or another like it(there is more than one?!)has been advertised for years. Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, but gee,it ain`t pretty.
Now, what about the anchor. King Neptune would surely approve.

Re: Post #5853

I posted an unusual houseboat three pages ago in post #5853. The Tampa Bay Times ran a story about it today.

Entire hull is stainless steel.

I hope this is readable....

Wow! A grown up kid's expensive tub-toy with all the fixens for adult tub-play!

Can't help but wonder... that stainless steel hull at all affected by constant salt water emersion? Any galvanic crevice effects... or does that just happen when moored in a "hot" marina? With the nearly unbelievable scope of battery power and huge solar charging capabilities... better not have any DC leak get into the water near boat. Or, a swimmer will be pulled out looking like KFC without mashed potatoes and gravy! :nonono:

40 feet beam... I am wondering where he is docking for pump out :)
