One strange thing about this boat (for some people) is the lack of headroom. I emailed the broker a couple of years ago— the headroom is only 6’ throughout most of the boat.

I looked for the old email and couldn’t find it, but I’m pretty sure I’m not misremembering.

Lack of headroom would make sense why this boat won't sell. Main engine barely broken in,800 hrs. 19' beam gives a lot of room inside. Draft is another reason but it doesn't stop Nordhavns from selling. lot of boat for the money if it fits your criteria.

Scout was at TrawlerFest in Anacortes, WA for a couple of years. I seem to recall that the owner said he built the vessel, and since MetalCraft Marine is a Canadian aluminum boat builder I wonder if attributing the build to that yard is correct. Maybe there is another MetalCraft Marine.

The engine room, as I recall, was really well done - lots of clever ideas although I can't remember any of them. Not the prettiest boat I've ever seen....

very interesting boat.. but whoever picked the fabrics and colors ( including the red hull ) should never of had been allowed near that boat.

Has a weird top heavy big bow like a N40..

interesting alternative to a N46.. looks better laid out

Indeed the fabric used for the pilot house seating is really something! But if this is the only issue it is an easy fix.

all the fabric is hideous.. the chair in the bridge looks like someone blew chunks on a blue chair. your right.. all you have to do is throw $$$ at it.

The fabric notwithstanding, I really like that boat.

Is it just me, or maybe the way the photo was taken, but does the aft portion of the hull seem incredibly flat? How will that handle following seas? Can’t remember what the downsides of a flat hull are.

What is that? Home built cabin on a pro built hull? I don't know why but I kind of like it.

Great Lakes Commercial Gillnetters. They go out for whitefish in all weather until the lakes freeze over.

Re the colors you’re probably just conservative. But you’re right the fabrics are awfull. I’d change them before showing the boat. Blue on the hull would be nice.
But I can’t belive you compared the Nordhavn 46 to this red thing. Not even from the same planet. Not slam’in you as your posts are usually knowledgeable and interesting. You must see something I don’t. Or I see something you don’t .... like that awfull hull. Forget the color what were you actually seeing here?

This is kind of interesting. The huon pine timber from Tasmania, of which it is built, preserves perfectly underwater. Huon pine used these days usually comes from old trees found underwater, due to dam construction, etc. The hull should be ok but the rest of it,.
Knowing the broker involved, I`d guess his job is getting it removed, as cheaply as possible.

This IS an interesting boat. I don’t have a problem with the decor, in fact I quite like the salon with blue/white motif. The pilot chair looks very comfortable and could be fit with a slip cover to calm down the pattern. The red hull needs toning down and the ark graphic needs to go. I would like to see a pic of the boat afloat cos it looks like it’s got huge windage forward. Not sure what the dolphin striker/pulpit strut is all about either. It does have a flat run aft but is stabilized.

There is a lot to like about the boat and I really like it mechanically. Kill shot comes from only one stateroom. That’s a shame. Takes it out of the market for the majority of buyers.
