USCG documentation of vessel type

Anyone here have their vessel documented as anything other than "Personal Vessel?" Are there any advantages if your vessel were a diving vessel, research vessel or anything else? Perhaps this has an affect on cruising fees when overseas or such.

Through the years and 2 boats, we've checked into 45 plus countries as a pleasure vessel, have never had any issues and fees have always been reasonable. We have seen problems where boats are owned or documented as businesses. Boats that are also used as charter, commercial or research have had issues as the authorities are trying to protect the locals from competition. I'd document as a pleasure vessel.
