Might as well start the thread early.* Latest track trending more west than north (stormpulse.com). This is NOT* good news.* Still a long time to go, but....

Better watch the disturbance in the GOM right now. Very good chance of strengthening and moving ashore this weekend as a tropical storm, probably into LA.

Man......that thing could dump some serious rain on you guys. Watch out for those river currents. I know you're in bad need of some rain there, but if the ground is that hard from drought, the initial run-off could be enormous.

Damm! I'm watching the rain bands stopping just short of Galveston Bay, and man, we NEED that rain over in the Houston area!
