Thanks, but I need to get Larry to put a Photoshop polishing on my hull for real now. Moonstruck is in need of a hull polish and a bottom job again. Just waiting for the first storm haulout to do it.

Don,

I wish I really knew that Photoshop trick to get the hull glossy again. Boomarang's Awlgrip is 12 years old and I just spent another $750 getting her to shine just a little longer.

Al,

How dare you suggest I would try something like that! You must think I see that color everywhere I look.

Sorry for my ambiguous reference, LarryM. I would never suggest such a despicable act by someone of your high esteem. I was referring to our resident Photoshop Guru, HealHustler, known wide and far to those who fear and respect him as "Larry".

Gee whiz. Does it really matter what your boat's bottom color is when the boat is in the water? Maybe if you've a sailboat leaning while going to windward. But we have motorboats, not sailboats, correct? Or are we talking "haul-out porn?"

I have not understand why people paint the bottom and other color than black it hides the yucky green/back growth. Sure it might look pretty sitting on the hard but in the water its looks unsightly unless you have your hull cleaned. The majority of the hulls are black followed by red. However the commercials seem to prefer red?

The "flanged" bow thruster openings are interesting to me. Typically, fairing the forward half of the thruster hole helps prevent cavitation and keeps the thruster noise down. How effective are these "flanges" in that regard?

no green growth...boats that move don't really have any and if I sit long enough ....10 minutes with a scraper solves that issue so I go with whatever color compliments the boat.

Don't know the reason for the flanges other than sealing the hull. The thruster is noisy, but it sounds like "grinding", but cavitation?? (whatever that sounds like). Only use thruster in short bursts as needed when for docking/embarking. Don't detect any noise when the thruster isn't on but then the Coot is slow (max 7.3 knots).

OK... I'll bite... so, what do your signs at bow sides represent?

I thought the circle w/ three blades such as configured in your signs and the one you pictured above was a universal nuclear hazard symbol, regardless of color??

The blade signs on the Coot indicate there is a thruster below. Isn't that obvious?

Occasionally, when someone asks about the signs, I say "the boat is nuclear powered" just to see their reaction.

I was afraid you'd say that.

Color non-plused; symbol you post on bow is a recognized international nuclear hazard sign... far as I know!?!?!!! But, from your last comment above... guess that's what you intended, and, it could create a good laugh, from some.

Don't know legalities regarding placement of hazard symbols where represented hazard did not, does not, or will not exist. Do know there are specific regs about symbols appropriately placed where hazards do exist.

Wouldn't photo/artistic-drawing of a prop, actual marine propeller, be more instructive/appropriate to help save hands and feet of near by swimmers??

Just wonderen!
