27 ton crane. Only problem with crane, boat yard can stack boats so close to one another, sometimes I can barely get my hand between rub rails. Big change this year, for the first time in 40 plus years, I'm wet storing in RI. Will do short haul in Spring.

The yard that works on my boat has two lifts--they use the smaller lift for mine. Their 94 Ton, 26' Beam Travel Lift is simply too big for my boat!

I'm beginning to feel out of place on this forum with my small trawler--I feel like the runt on the block

This is how it was lifted when the boat was put back together in Portland, OR.....

and yes, it was difficult to watch the boat with it being so high above the water. Where we live there aren't any travellifts so if I have it hauled it's going to have to be by a large crane.

What ever works for the work ta be done.

Travel lift / Tidal grid / Keel Lift . or rail lift just don't have any pics of the oldboat on one. I have also just beached a boat for repair. Its all good. Tidal grids are hard to find these days around here , any that are "open " any way.

In Alaska we hauled on a typical haul-out trailer. Now in LaConnor WA we are lifted out w a 100 ton "sling lift" (travel lift) and then lowered to a trailer like the one in Alaska and taken to the block up spot. Sorry Willy looks so awful in these pics but she had been in the water for several years .. 3 I think. The harbormaster was in the colorful pants and I was in the stupid looking hat. I don't like hats.

Ouch. I guess if there was any silver lining at least you weren't stranded in a cradle, or worse yet in the sling when it went rogue.

Now thats the way to do it, wonder if that would work with a GB36? I'd like to see how they get that off the trailer and onto the stands.

you place your back blocks and loosely place your stands . You next let the air bags out and lower the hydraulics pull ahead and repeat . It takes about ten minutes. And yes it would haul a GB36

Ours is hauled like Jamie Mac's, except the trailer is hooked to a large backhoe's front end, so that the backhoe travels in reverse.

Although if that breaks down, there is a new Travelift a few miles across and up the Bay that might be able to handle us in a pinch (485 ton capacity).

Our marina uses a hydraulic trailer for the small and medium size boats and a rented crane for the larger (up to 40,000 lbs) boats and sailboats. Done it this way for over 20 years I guess and seems to work for everyone.

When you travel lift guys haulout do you place it on the dock or ob a trailer. We also have travel lifts but if you want to haul any distance over land this is cheaper and easier.

The Coot goes "on the hard" only for maintenance. The boating season here is year-round.
