Helping an old friend

Hello Trawler folks, my friend Jerry is looking for a used turbo or a kit for his 1989 Ford Lehman 225.. It got some salt water in it and locked up. I'm helping him sell his boat a 44 Marine Trader.....Any info would be really great....thanks Jim in SC........Diesel place wants $700 to rebuild!!!

Has the cause of salt water ingestion been addressed? A savvy potential buyer would want to know. Does the turbo have any manufacturers data stamped on it?

A small rubber hose sending water to the stuffing box had a small leak. Water spray got in the turbo and boat was not ran for some time. The turbo got stuck. The motor is a 1989 225 and is a water cooled turbo. A little over 1000hr on motor.
